As part of my offerings in my Sausalito studio in Marin County, I offer studio kids portraits. These are short, affordable sessions for your child to capture their personality and season of life. Each kids portrait is 10 minutes per child (if you book more than one back to back, we will get sibling photos, too!).
These sessions are perfect for kids who are ready and excited to meet new people and will thrive in a new space when placed on a backdrop on their own with a (very fun and friendly!) stranger and can sit up on their own. If your child is slower to warm and you don’t think they’d be successful in a 10 minute session of that nature, you can start with a studio family session and add a kids portrait at the end. You’ll get to add an extra outfit this way, and your child will be able to take time warming up to me in your arms.
These are a perfect way to update photos for the year in a way that truly captures their personalities, unlike your traditional school portrait that may be the only other non-phone photo of your kids. I have many families that do these each year and then hang their classic portraits on white all up next to each other year after year for a cohesive look at their growing children. I put a strong emphasis on getting a big, real smile out of children in a natural way, as well as some fun prompts to get their silly side out, too!
