San Francisco Photoshoot Location: Crissy Field
When you think about San Francisco photoshoot locations, this one might just be the one the most people picture in their minds. There is nothing that says San Francisco quite like the beach with the Golden Gate Bridge shining in all it’s glory in the background. San Francisco photographers take pictures of the bridge from all angles, but this one is my favorite. It has easy parking, lots of different backgrounds within a short walk, and is way less crowded on the beach than other San Francisco beach photoshoot locations.
While the Golden Gate Bridge is a key feature at this location, Karl the Fog likes to show his face, especially in the summer, and the bridge can be blocked, so be aware of that. Even if the bridge isn’t there, this San Francisco stunner has beautiful white and red Presidio buildings with rows of palm trees, the beach and pier and a staircase blocked from the elements that has year-round beautiful green foliage.
Sessions here happen up to two hours before sunset, and are great for all occasions and families with less than 8 people. Since there are rocks and sand, this is not a recommend location for people with mobility issues.
As you can see from these sample photos, the weather can be a bit unpredictable, so plan for layers and the ability to bundle, even when the weather says it’ll be sunny! It is San Francisco, after all.
Think you might want a session here, but want to see more of one gallery and read more about it? You can do that here.
Want to hear more from families like yours? Here’s what one family said about their session at this location: “Thank you SO MUCH! These are great. I can't decide if I like the perfect smile posed photos or their silly tween ones more! As always, you nailed it, and I appreciate your work so much. As a mom of feral boys, I really treasure those few moments when they clean up, dress well, and act sweet.” You can read more reviews from happy families here.
