Golden Gate Bridge
This photoshoot location is the perfect spot to choose if you are looking for those iconic Golden Gate Bridge views. I will note that Karl the fog is a staple at this location, so the bridge view is not guaranteed, but there’s enough to make this location amazing even without it! This location is on the San Francisco side, with easy access and parking (although it is a tourist destination so make sure not to leave anything visible in your car!). We start on the steps leading to the bridge overlook for some beautiful greenery, which gives some nice variety so your entire gallery isn’t focused on the bridge. From there, we go on to beach! The bulk of the bridge photos will happen on the beach, and from there, we will loop back to the quintessential Presidio buildings and palm trees and finish on the rocks.
This location can get chilly, but if you are willing to bundle up and lean into the sometimes windy conditions, it can really pay off! You may consider the gallery below, which happened on a warm night, the picture of California on the beach, but really, anyone from San Francisco knows that sweaters and scarves on the beach is the real San Francisco. Foliage is green year round and the beach is always in season in California. Be prepared for fog, especially in the summer months.
Sessions here are scheduled up to two hours prior to sunset. This location is good for immediate family as well as smaller extended families (less than 8 people). Not recommended for large groups or people with mobility issues.
If you are looking for a maternity or family photoshoot in Marin or San Francisco, but aren’t feeling this location, I have several others to choose from, all with different vibes. You can see your options here. You are also always welcome to have your session in-home no matter the season!
