Eucalyptus Forest in the Spring

This location is located in a wooded area in San Rafael in central Marin. There are beautiful eucalyptus trees as well as other evergreen trees, downed logs to play on, and beautiful views of Marin. This location changes seasonally and is green and lush in the spring, and golden in the summer and fall. Beautiful light filters through the trees to create long shadows and a soft glow around you. If time permits, we can also explore the hills around the forest for a very Marin feel. This location has easy parking and the main area is flat and easy to access, making it perfect for families who want a beautiful location without a lot of walking. It’s also versatile, with lots of little areas to tuck into in a short space so we don’t have to wander far. A permit fee is required for this location and needs to be booked with at least 15 business days for approval. The permit fee is waived for legacy and signature sessions. The family pictured here had a late April session starting an hour before sunset, which leads to the softest light and the ability to go down into the hills!
