San Francisco Photoshoot Location: Lover’s Lane
I introduced this amazing San Francisco photoshoot location last year and it was an immediate hit!
Lover’s Lane is a beautiful eucalyptus grove, with pockets of ivy and the coolest art installation by Andy Goldsworthy that creates a stunning and unique backdrop perfect for family photos. Kids can play on downed logs and run through the ivy, with room to play. Since this location is such an incredible spot, it gets packed with photographers and runnings almost year-round, but especially in the fall. If you are game for dodging other people (and dogs!) to get this location, let’s go for it! If you are looking for something moe private, I have lots of options in San Francisco and Marin. If you have your heart set on this location, but know that your kids (or you!) will get too distracted by the crowds, weekday mornings are the perfect solution. Pull the kids from school for a few hours and take an extended morning ‘meeting’ to get the best light and the lowest crowds, then pop back home after.

This San Francisco photoshoot location at Lover’s Lane is a morning-only location, which means sessions here are over by 11 am. It’s best for immediate families and small extended families under 8 people. Dogs are welcome on leash.
