Engaging Kids

When you purchase Capturing Everyday Magic, your guide to taking better pictures of your kids with any camera, you will learn some tips for how to engage kids of all ages to help guide you through the course and your journey with photographing your kids. Here are the topics we cover.

Prompts

We know that getting kids to smile on command is challenging, to say the least. ‘Cheese’ results in forced smiles or smirks, and sometimes kids just run from the camera. To get you started on the right track, we give you prompts for engaging kids of all ages to get them interested in what you are saying and reacting in a natural way.

Make it Fun

One of the things we are most passionate about when photographing any kids, but especially your own, is the importance of making photos fun. If your kids have a negative association with your camera, they will never act naturally in front of it and you won’t get to capture their joy. Through 3+ hours of behind the scenes footage, we will show you how we always make photos fun and something our kids are actually excited about!

Troubleshooting

So many people assume our kids are always good for photos because we are professional photographers and that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s a running joke in the photography community that our kids are the worst to take pictures of because they are immune to the tricks that work on other kids who aren’t used to being photographed all the time. In our behind the scenes footage, you will watch us turn it around when our kids get whiny, disinterested or distracted to get beautiful images we love.
